Advice on Gardening magazine periodicals

My grandson is raising money for his school by asking people to buy subscriptions to magazines. I’m not a big fan of magazines but I am a seasoned gardener. There are several selections to choose from but I’m not sure which periodical is best for me. I want one that isn’t full of unrealistic ideas on gardening; something for the everyday gardener that will provide useful information in terms the layman can understand. I grow a flower garden and a vegetable garden, so I need a periodical that covers at least both topics. What do you think is the best choice in periodicals of all the choices on the market? I want to help my grandson but I want to order something that will be useful and informative to me; I don’t want to order something just to be a good grandma. Your advice would be most helpful.
