Question Best Plants for my Pond

My home sits on three acres of land, which includes a very nice but small pond. I would like to add some pond plants to it but I’m not sure which kinds are best suited for the climate I live in. I live in Georgia; we don’t have harsh winters, but occasionally we will get below freezing, however the pond never freezes over. I’d like to have pond plants that add beauty to the property that can also help sustain turtles, frogs, and different types of fish that already live in the pond. I also want pond plants that will come back every year or possibly continue to thrive throughout the year. The most important thing is, I don’t want pond plants that will over-take my pond and make it look like a marsh. What do you suggests as the best pond plants for the Georgia climate?
