Help! I don’t have a green thumb

My mother has always been able to grow and maintain beautiful flower gardens but it seems I did not inherit that green thumb from her. Every time I attempt to start a flower garden, all my plants die or wither away. Are there garden clinics that people can attend to help them learn the proper gardening techniques? I so want to have a nice garden to improve the landscape around my house but instead of beauty I get ugly, dried up plants and flowers. I have good intensions and I try very hard to tend to my plants, but nothing seems to work for me. I need professional help and am hoping I can find some type of garden clinic that will teach me the proper ways of planting and maintaining a flourishing garden. Do you have any suggestions for me? If not, I’m going to have to go to plan B and set out plastic plants and try to pretend they are real.
