Am I getting the right information?

I am looking to add some exotic types of plants to my flower garden but have had little luck finding the right kind of garden literature pertaining to how to care for exotic flowers and plants. Do you have any suggestions that might lead me in the right direction as to where to find this literature I am looking for? I understand that exotic flowers need extra care and tend to be a bit pricey to buy the starter plants. I don’t want to invest my money and then have them die from improper care. I am hoping that you will have some much needed information that you can share with me concerning exotic plants and where I might find the right literature to guide me along the way. It’s a bit frustrating to walk into a book store and find hundreds of books concerning the subject of growing exotic plants; I just don’t know which one is best for me. I hope you have some ideas, because I am clearly in the dark.
