Default Begonia Escargot

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a begonia escargot (to be precise it's Begonia Rex Escargot). I saw one of these in a Hartley Greenhouse at Chester Zoo and it looked awesome. I made an effort to take down it's name but can't seem to find one anywhere ? I'm not usually a fan of Begonia but this one had swirl shaped leaves with a snail like pattern leaves - hence the name -begonia escargot. Ideally it's a plant that I am after rather than seeds.

Default escargot begonia

Hi Daniel

Hooray - another fan of Begonia Escargot ! Finding one of these is hard work - I was looking recently because I lost my prize specimen over the winter. Well I have some good news. It took a bit of groundwork but I found a specialist nursery called Dibleys that supply Begonia Escargot. The site isn't easy to navigate and it's currently in their summer catalogue as part of a plug plant collection. Your best bet is to follow the link to this page :

It's about the seventh one down and will cost you around £12.50 - it comes with other begonias that include pink champagne and firecracker.

Good luck and happy growing !
