Default Cordyline problems !

i have four well established cordylines which are about 12-15 years old & stand at about 12-15 feet high, unfortunatley it seems that they have suffered the bad winter we had and are showing signs of dying from the bottom upwards, however a lot of new growth has started to grow round the base of each tree which i intend to allow to flourish but these are numerous and my question is can i propergate these new growths and produce new plants,if so how is it done ?

Hi Frank,

Not sure about this one. I imagine that the new growth will still be feeding on the energy stored up in the old cordyline and the roots so if it was me I'd leave them to get a little stronger. In time you'll find that the old cordyline dies back and at that point you might think about digging the new ones up and moving them.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.
regards
Daniel
