Post Protecting and Beautifying

My husband and I spend a lot of time in our flower garden; we are very proud of how it looks from spring through fall. The problem is we have grandchildren who tend to want to walk through the garden as a short cut to the other side of the house and often times will trample on one or two of our treasured flowers and plants. We have come to the conclusion that we are going to have to put up a garden fence to try to detour our grandchildren from taking their usual short cut. We want a fence that will add to the beauty of our garden but will also protect it from those little wandering feet. What do you advise as the best type of garden fencing for this situation? We don’t want a fence that makes it difficult for us to get into our garden, but we want one that clearly states, “keep out of the garden”. Can you give us some direction?
