Post My Ugly Hedges I Can’t Seem To Control

I have a beautiful yard, a flourishing garden, and some very ugly hedges that never seem to trim correctly. They are growing out of control and no matter how hard I try to trim them neatly; they always grow back uneven and thicker than before. I have considered having them dug up and removed completely, but then that would leave such a bare area around the front of my house. It seems I am having to trim them at least once a week in order to keep them from being overly unsightly. They are also growing so tall that they tend to block my view from my front window. I don’t understand how they can grow so quickly and get so out of control. What do you suggest I do to get my hedges under control before I dig them up and replace them with a rock garden? Any help you can give me is better than what I’ve been doing; that’s for sure.
