Unhappy Box hedge has brown leaves.

I recently planted a box hedge that has been in a garden pot for the last year into the ground. At the same time I also gave the box hedge a little trim. Three weeks later alot of the leaves have turned brown and dried up. I am fairly new to gardening with box hedges and wondered if anyone had some advise on the est course of action from this point on. I am reluctant to trim off the brown leaves from the box hedge incase it makes things worse. What should I do ?
